It's Beginning To Look Alot Like Christmas......Around Your Home!!!

Dining room table decorated = Check!
Living room table decorated = Check! Check!
Shelving around the house decorated = Check! Check! Check!

Now on to the rest of your home!
Easy as 1-2-3 decorations for around your entire home!

These projects wont take you but 10 to 30 minutes a piece to accomplish! Spend a couple hours one Saturday afternoon and your house could be done! :)

Use Simple hurricane vases, and put in clear stones, silver snowflakes, and pine cones from your backyard. For the snowy look on the pine cones, simply spray with a "snow spray" that you can get from any craft store. You can use as many or little as you want, and vases of different sizes and shapes to create this simple, elegant winter decoration!

Alot of these winter/christmas decorations you can get from your own backyard or your neighbors backyard. Stumps of wood, pine cones of different sizes, and tree branches. Add some candles with a couple vases and silver/white sprays and you have a wintery/christmas decorated home!

This one is beautiful and unique. All of these pieces can be found at your nearest craft store. Vases, fake snow, candles, Silver branches and berries. Put them all together, and you have a masterpiece! Easy as 1-2-3!

Another favorite of mine is taking vases yet again, and ornaments of different shapes and colors plus a little bit of fake snow and adding them all together in one vase to create a pretty christmas scene on any surface!

Enjoy your white Christmas,

~ Lauren

The Smell of Fall is Here!!

It's that time of year already, where the weather starts to change, and so does the artwork of nature. If you're lucky like me you get to experience fall weather in it's entirety. It's still warm, with a cool fall breeze, and all of the leaves are orange, red, and yellow at this point, within the beautiful mountain ranges surrounding my city. The smell of fall weather, and delicious fall food is something I can not wait for every year! It seemed to creep up on me alot faster this year though, and I'm finding myself frantic to get in the seasonal spirit before I miss out on this beautiful time of year!!!

Fall is fun in that you get to decorate with warm colors, and natural earthly products like hay, and pumpkins, and gourds, etc.

I am quite behind on my decorating but here are some ideas to get you started. Things you can do so easily in your own home that dont cost you your leg!

Make fall decorating a fun event for you and your friends and family. Go to a pumpkin patch a pick your own pumpkins!! They really can go a long way!

Take a shelf thats prominent in your house, and cover them with those pumpkins you picked!

This is an easy, low cost way of bringing the beauty of fall - inside!

My next suggestion is taking items in your house that you use all the time plus a couple seasonal items -  and mixing them to create fun fall center pieces for your table or counter top! These are fun things you can put together that are cute and not time consuming! :)

It's colorful, easy, and festive!
Take a couple different jars and vases, putting in them candy corns, and acorns and pine cones you pick from your backyard! Add a couple little pumpkins, and a few leaves from your backyard and you have yourself a homemade center piece that your friends will be ooing about!!

Take time today to decorate!!!

Discovery and Innovation

Imagine this scenario:
You're running late home from class or work, or wherever you may be coming from, and you have a party to go to tonight, or a party to prepare for, at your own home this evening. But you don't know what to take to this party, or how to decorate your house for your own party. What do you do?

Well women in today's day and age are more likely to turn to the Internet for ideas over anything else. What a better place to turn, then somewhere that inspires you in all of those areas! A One-Stop-Shop, so to speak!

I wanted to start off this blog introducing myself as a way for the readers and followers to understand why I'm doing this blog.

I'm a college student, getting ready to graduate with my several degrees and move on with my life and start a career for two great companies joining together to make one great blog. The Food Network Channel and  Home Magazine, have come together to create a perfect combination of decorum and cooking. For women like me who are the majority readers and watchers of these companies are in a time in life where they are starting to become interested in cooking and baking and cool new ways to decorate their home with out spending a fortune. Well that's where I am. When i graduate in May, I move to a new phase of life where I have my own home to make mine. My own kitchen to cook in, my own living and dining rooms to entertain in, and my whole new house to decorate however I want. Over the years I have become a little Susie Homemaker! I think part of it is just growing up, and part of it is thinking about getting married soon, and starting a family. This is what Home Magazine, and The Food Network Channel are for -- for these types of women!

These are the things that encouraged me to develope the idea of blogging more detailed information about the Home Magazine articles, and The Food Network Channel with those women who are in my similar shoes; and those women like my mother who have been doing these things for so long, that they just want to change things up and bit and introduce new creativity and excitement into their kitchens and homes.

So, for you readers:
Have you ever wanted a new recipe for a great new dessert or appetizer to take to a get together with friends, but you have no new recipes left in your recipe box? Have you ever wanted to decorate your home for the summer, or for Christmas but are the not the most creative person?? Well that's where I'm here to help you.

As I go from the life of a college student under mommy and daddy's bank account, to a full blown career and life on my own bank account, I will be scrap booking my new innovative ideas for food, and decorating my home for the current season. This is what I like to call Delicacies and Decor - The inspiration to the name of this blog.

I hope you enjoy these fun tips, tricks, and tell all sessions, as I invite you into my ever changing life for new ideas for your creative side to spin off of!

xoxo,
Lauren
